The North Syria Representation Office in Benelux works to provide all peoples of North Syria living in the Benelux region with consular support, as well as to build lasting relations with the EU and Benelux governments through contributing to common and mutually beneficial goals.

The North Syria Representation Office in Benelux serves to defend the interests of all peoples present in North Syria. This includes all ethnic and religious groups, such as Kurds, Arabs, Syriacs-Assyrians, Muslims, Christians, and Yezidis. It supports the right to self-determination and the values of freedom, justice, dignity, democracy, equality, and sustainable development. It works to defend these values alongside basic human rights, the principles of secularism, gender equality, and the provision of humanitarian aid to North Syria. Here in the Benelux region, the office works with the diaspora community of North Syria and providing general consular support.

This office further seeks to promote cooperation between the Benelux region and North Syria on the basis of common interests and goals. By building relations between North Syria and Benelux, the office aims to create meaningful and sustainable connections and relationships for a foundation of positive progress and a future of friendship. Inside the office, there is a documentation center; conferences and cultural events are also held here.

Erdogan has declared war on Syrian Kurdish population.

NATO’s member, Turkey, is invading Afrin, a democratically self-governed region in North Syria.

The canton of Afrin has been the most secure and safe region in Syria for its inhabitants despite the embargo. It is democratically governed by locally-elected councils and it hosts more than 300,000 IDPs from the other Syrian cities.

We implore the international community to act in the name of peace and justice, and work to halt this Turkish offensive with such efforts as instituting a no-fly zone over Afrin, sending a team of UN observers, or providing peace-keeping troops to secure the Turkish-Syrian border.
